1. What is the Makassar Half Marathon 2026?
  • The Makassar Half Marathon 2026 is a road running competition initiated by the Government of Makassar City through the Department of Youth and Sports of Makassar City. The Event Owner appoints experienced race management and event organizers to manage the competition. This event also receives support from the community of Makassar City as a form of appreciation for positive activities in sports and tourism.
  • With the concept and tagline "Run For All," this event aims to attract the interest of running enthusiasts, tourists, and the public to enjoy the city of Makassar along the race route while interacting with the culture, cuisine, local wisdom, and community.
2. What is the scheme for the Makassar Half Marathon 2026?

This event is an in-person or offline competition open to all, including participants from abroad. It is open internationally for the Half Marathon category and nationally closed for other categories, including a master class (40+ & 50+) for all categories and a student class only for the 10K category.

3. When will the Makassar Half Marathon 2026 take place?
  • The event will be held on three consecutive days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 29, 30 & 31, 2026. The event time is 16.30 for Kid Dash and from 04:00 to 11:00 WITA (Central Indonesia Time).
4. Where will the Makassar Half Marathon 2026 be held?
  • The event venue is at Central Point of Indonesia for Kid Dash category and Anjungan Pantai Losari for Half Marathon & 10K.

This event is open to both Indonesian Citizens (WNI) and Foreign Nationals (WNA), specifically for the Half Marathon category.

7. Which categories can Indonesian Citizens (WNI) participate in?

Indonesian Citizens (WNI) can choose one of the available categories: Half Marathon (Open), Half Marathon (National), 10K (Open), 10K (National), or 10K (Student 15-18 years old) and Kid Dash (3-12 years old).

8. Which category can Foreign Nationals (WNA) participate in?

Foreign Nationals (WNA) can choose all available category, except for 10K Student & Kid Dash.

9. Who can be a champion in this race?
  • Indonesian Citizens (WNI) have the opportunity to become champions and winners in the open, national, and student classes.
  • Foreign Nationals (WNA) have the opportunity to become champions and winners in the open class.
10. What type of identification is required for participants to enter this race?
  • Participants can register and participate in this race using their NIK/ID card/Indonesian Passport for Indonesian Citizens. Foreign Nationals can participate with identification such as a passport or KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit).
  • Foreign Nationals who have the potential to win should ensure they possess a work VISA or KITAS.

The Makassar Half Marathon 2026 aims to become one of the recommended races in Central and Eastern Indonesia. Geographically, this event is intended to be a premier destination for large-scale road running events in Makassar and its surrounding areas, including other parts of Central and Eastern Indonesia.

B. REGISTRATION

1. Where can I register?

• Registration information can be accessed on the website makassarhalfmarathon.id, which is also available via the link in the Instagram bio of @makassarhalfmarathon.

2. When can I register?
  • Registration opens on December 12, 2025 for Tier I, which offers a 15% discount, and followed by Tier II on January 11, 2026, wichh regular pricing, and will close immediately once the quota is full, or by March 9, 2026, whichever comes first.
  • As slots are limited, register as soon as possible. The registration system will automatically lock when slots are no longer available.
3. What are the registration fees?
  • Triple Medals Challenge Open : IDR 1.750.000,-
  • Triple Medals Challenge National : IDR 1.250.000,-
  • Half Marathon Open : IDR 900.000,-
  • Half Marathon National : IDR 675.000,-
  • 10K Open : IDR 700.000,-
  • 10K National : IDR 425.000,-

4. Who is eligible to register?
  • All categories of Half Marathon and 10K are open to participants aged 15 to 70 years old.
  • The Kid Dash category is exclusively open to children aged 3–12 years old.
  • Participants above 60 years old are advised to provide a health certificate from a doctor or a health institution.
  • Participants under 18 years old must submit a Parental Consent Form, which can be filled out and signed during race pack collection.
  • Child participants under the age of 13 (5–12 years) who do not register for the Kid Dash category may only participate in 10K category and must provide a written Parental Consent Form, which can be completed during Race Pack Collection. Participants in this age group are not eligible to become race winners.
  • Interested participants should be aware that limited slots significantly impact the chances of securing a spot in this event.
5. Can I register for two different categories?
  • Participants are allowed to register for two different categories on three separate race days (Friday, Saturday & Sunday).
  • The two different categories allowed are:
    • 10K on Saturday and Half Marathon on Sunday
  • Participants are not permitted to register multiple times in the same category.
6. Is a refund available if I decide not to participate in the race?
  • No refunds will be provided to participants who cancel their participation, whether during the registration period, during race pack collection, or on race day, regardless of the reason.
  • Participants who cancel will also forfeit their entitlement to the race pack.
  • Participants must ensure they do not make double payments for one registration ID, whether intentionally or due to negligence.
  • In the case of double payment, the organizer will contact the participant during data validation. If double payment is confirmed, the participant may request a refund.
  • A IDR 15,000 administrative fee will be deducted from the refunded registration fee.
7. Can I transfer my race bib to someone else?
  • Bib numbers are non-transferable under any circumstances. The organizer will not be responsible for bibs used by individuals whose details do not match the data in the organizer's records.
  • Race facilities and podium prizes are only valid for the legitimate bib holder, verified with official personal identification.
8. How do I know if my registration was successful?
  • Participants will receive a confirmation email at their registered email address within one hour of completing the registration process.
  • Participants who successfully complete registration will also see their names listed on the participant list, along with their bib number.
9. What should I do if I haven’t received a registration confirmation email?
  • If you haven’t received the confirmation email within one hour, first check your junk mail or spam folder.
  • If the confirmation email is still not found, contact WhatsApp Chat from Monday to Sunday at +62 877-0210-2016 (operational hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM WIB/GMT+7).
  • Participants should also review their registration data to ensure the email address was entered correctly.
  • The organizer recommends using a standard email address format to avoid potential issues with system recognition. Participants should avoid using uncommon characters or symbols in their email addresses.
  • To prevent such issues, it is emphasized that participants must enter their email address accurately and correctly during registration.
10. What happens if I haven’t made my payment?
  • Payment must be completed within one hour after registration for Tier I and Tier II periods, and within one hour for regular registrations.
  • Failure to make payment within this time frame will result in the participant's name and data being removed from the system. The individual will need to re-register if they still wish to participate in the race.
11. What if I don’t have a national ID (KTP)?

Participants under the age of 17 can use their student ID or provide a copy of their parent's national ID (KTP).

C. RUNNER FACILITIES

1. Will the participant’s bib number include a timing chip?
  • Yes, each bib number for all race categories will include a timing chip that records each participant's net time.
  • Checkpoints will also be available along the race route to support time recording. Race results will be displayed on the websitemakassarhalfmarathon.id and other links to be announced later.
  • CCTV will be placed at various points to ensure data accuracy, especially for determining winners and podium placements.
2. How many water stations are available along the race route?
  • Half Marathon : 9 water stations
  • 10K : 4 water stations
3. Is there a baggage drop facility available?
  • Yes, a baggage drop facility is available for participants. Items can be dropped off starting at 4:00 AM WITA/GMT+8 before the race begins. The baggage drop will close no later than one hour after the event concludes, as marked by the closing announcement from the MC.
  • Only items related to race needs are allowed. Large items, such as suitcases, are not permitted.
  • Participants are discouraged from leaving valuable items as the organizer will not be held responsible for any loss or damage.
  • Participants agree to the inspection of baggage by the organizer, either visually or using special detection tools.
  • Items will be stored in transparent plastic bags, and participants will receive a claim number for retrieval.
4. Will refreshments be provided?

Yes, refreshments including mineral water, isotonic drinks, and bananas will be available after the finish line.

5. Will finisher medals be provided?
  • Yes, finisher medals will be provided to participants who complete the race within the specified Cut Off Time (COT).
  • Participants should pay attention to the COT for their respective categories to avoid issues regarding finisher medals.
6. Will finisher jerseys be provided?
  • Yes, finisher jerseys will be available for participants in the Half Marathon category who finish within the specified COT.
  • Participants should ensure they are aware of the COT for their category to avoid issues regarding finisher jerseys.
7. Will participants receive a race result record?

8. Can participants access event photos?

Yes, a photo tagging system will be available. Participants can progressively access event photos starting 30 minutes after the race begins through an official link that will be announced later.

D. RACE FAQ

1. What are the criteria for determining the winners of this race?
  • Winners are determined based on the fastest time recorded (gun time) when runners cross the finish line, according to their category. The participant's data must be accurate and valid, verified by matching the bib number with the participant's registration data.
  • Categories include Open Class, National Class, Master 40+ and 50+ for the Half Marathon, 10K, Student Class for the 10K only and Kid Dash.
  • The top five winners will be selected for the Half Marathon and 10K Open categories, while the top eight winners will be selected for the National Half Marathon and 10K National categories and top three winners for Kid Dash. Master Class winners are available for all categories, divided into Master 40+ and Master 50+. For the Student Class in the 10K, winners must be aged 15–18.
2. Are there specific categories for this race?
  • Yes, there are specific categories, including a Master Class for participants aged 40+ and 50+ on or before race day.
  • A Student Class is also available for the 10K category for participants aged 15–18.
3. What factors can lead to disqualification of a winner?
A winner may be disqualified for:
  • Data discrepancies between the bib and participant information.
  • Manipulating participant data or using another person's bib.
  • Taking shortcuts or failing to collect checkpoint markers provided along the racecourse.
  • Using assistance devices such as wheelchairs, roller skates, built-in wheels, or any other equipment intended to speed up the race.
  • Having a personal pacer who engages in unfair conduct, disadvantaging other participants.
4. What is the age limit for participants?
  • Participants eligible for awards must be aged 13–70 for Half Marathon and 10K categories.
  • Children aged 5–12 may join the 10K category but are ineligible for awards.
  • Participants aged 3–17 must submit a Parental Consent Form and run with an accompanying adult who is also registered.
  • Participants over 60 years old are advised to provide a Medical Clearance from a hospital or doctor.
5. Are pets allowed?

No, participants are not allowed to bring pets to ensure everyone's comfort during the race.

  • Half Marathon : 4 Hours

8. Can I use running aids during the race?
  • Participants are prohibited from using aids such as bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, motorized or non-motorized vehicles, or other wheeled equipment.
  • This rule does not apply to Participants with Special Needs (IBK).
9. Are strollers allowed?

To ensure participant safety and avoid unwanted incidents, strollers or running with children on the racecourse are not allowed.

10.Who is eligible for the Triple Medals?

Participants who have registered for the Triple Medals Challenge and start and finish according to the regulations of categories are entitled to a total of three medals, consisting of the two category medals they complete and an additional special Triple Medals Challenge medal.

11. What will I receive after completing the race?

All participants who complete the race within the cut-off time will receive a finisher medal for all categories and a finisher jersey for the Half Marathon category.

12. What are the rules for the start and cut-off time (COT)?
  • A 10-minute start time limit applies for all categories (Half Marathon and 10K).
  • Participants exceeding this limit will be disqualified and categorized as Did Not Start (DNS).
  • Participants who exceed the cut-off time for their category will be disqualified and categorized as Did Not Finish (DNF).
13. Is this event categorized as a trail run, road race, or a combination of both?
  • This is a full road race. The event will take place entirely on paved asphalt roads.
14. What if I cannot complete the race?
  • For participants who are injured or unwell, the Organizers will provide ambulance services and on-site medical support.
  • Participants exceeding the Cut-Off Time (COT) while still on the racecourse will be transported to the finish area via evacuation vehicles provided by the Organizers.
  • Participants who Did Not Start (DNS) or Did Not Finish (DNF) are not entitled to a finisher medal.

E. RACE PACK COLLECTION (RPC)

1. When and where will the race pack collection take place?
  • Date:
    • Thursday–Friday, May 28–29, 2026, for the 10K & Kid Dash category.
    • Thursday–Saturday, May 28–30, 2026, for the Half Marathon category.
  • Time: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM WITA (Central Indonesian Time)/GMT+8.

2. Can someone else collect my race pack on my behalf?
  • Yes, race packs can be collected on behalf of a participant, provided the representative brings:
    1. A softcopy or hardcopy of the participant's race pack collection email.
    2. A copy of the participant’s identification card.
    3. Their own official identification card.
    4. A notarized authorization letter from the participant (free format) or the provided authorization letter template included in the race pack email.
  • Note: A representative can collect race packs for a maximum of 5 participants.
3. Can I collect my race pack after the designated RPC dates or on race day?
  • Race pack collection is not available on race day or after the designated RPC dates.
  • For the 10K categories, race packs cannot be collected on Saturday or after the race is completed for that category.
4. Will I still be entitled to my race pack if I fail to collect it during the designated time?
  • Participants who do not collect their race packs on the specified dates will lose their entitlement to both the race pack and their participation in the race.
  • Race packs will not be shipped and can only be collected by the participant or an authorized representative, as per the outlined rules.

F. APPRECIATION

1. Will I receive a medal?

All participants who meet the race requirements and conditions will receive a finisher medal.

2. How are rankings determined for podium winners?
  • Winners and podium finishers are determined by the fastest completion time based on gun time, according to their arrival time in each category and passing the verification process.
  • Up to 7–10 potential winners will be selected for verification to determine the official podium finishers.
  • A Potential Winner is a candidate for a podium position who must undergo verification to ensure accuracy and compliance with race rules.
3. Are there prizes for the fastest runners and winners in each category?
  • Yes, prizes will be awarded to winners, with transfers made to their bank accounts within 14 working days after the race.
  • If doping tests are conducted after the event, winners required to undergo doping tests will only receive their prizes after test results confirm compliance with race rules or successful completion of the doping test.
4. Is there a promotion for winners with faster times than the higher category?
  • Promotion provisions for the fastest runner only apply if a record is broken or if the National Class exceeds the time recorded by the Open Winner.
  • Promotion is granted if:
    • The 1st place National winner officially records a time faster than the 1st place Open winner.
  • The promotion system does not apply to Master Class.

G. DISQUALIFICATION OF PARTICIPANTS & WINNERS

1. What can cause a participant to be disqualified?
Disqualification may occur for reasons such as:
  • Failing to comply with race rules.
  • Providing false personal data.
  • Disruptive behavior, cheating, or causing disturbances.
  • Actions that inconvenience participants or organizers, pose a safety risk, or violate laws.
  • Using personal pacers or engaging in dishonest practices with pacers that disadvantage other participants.
2. What factors can disqualify a winner?
  • Fastest runners who receive a Potential Winner necklace must complete the verification process immediately after finishing.
  • Disqualification of winners may occur under the following conditions:
    • Mismatched personal data with the bib worn.
    • Manipulation of registration data.
    • Using another person's bib/race number, whether knowingly or unknowingly.
    • Taking shortcuts on the race route.
    • Testing positive for doping if doping tests are conducted.
    • Incomplete timing records at checkpoints along the route.
    • Failing to collect all official checkpoint markers provided by the organizer during the race.
    • Using assistive devices such as wheelchairs, rollerblades, built-in wheels, or any other tools intended to accelerate reaching the finish line.

H. FIELD MEDICAL SERVICES

1. Is there medical assistance available on-site during the race?
  • To ensure participants' medical needs are met, medical facilities with high standards are available on-site. The organizers have prepared Medical Director, field doctors and other supporting medical staff at the race central and at various points along the course.
  • A team of Running Doctors will also be present, running alongside participants to monitor their condition, allowing for faster medical response on the course. The Running Doctors will support and coordinate with the static medical team along the route.
2. What should participants prepare regarding their health for this race?
  • Participants should be aware that this activity carries risks; therefore, they are expected to prepare both physically and mentally, and only start the race when in optimal physical and mental condition.
  • Participants of certain age limits should pay attention to the requirements and regulations regarding physical examinations before participating.
  • Participants must ensure they are in good health before competing and, if necessary, conduct a proper health check with a local doctor or hospital.
  • If race organizers find a participant in poor physical and mental condition, unfit to compete, they will stop the participant from continuing the race and withdraw their bib number. The organizers will not be responsible if the participant insists on starting or continuing the race.
  • Participants with medical issues who do not adhere to the health regulations may be noted by the race organizers for special attention in future events and risk being placed on a blacklist if they compete twice in a row without considering their health, leading to medical issues during events organized by these organizers.

I. INSURANCE

1. Are runners covered by insurance?
  • Yes, all runners will be covered by insurance during this event if they provide accurate and valid personal information. It is important to note that this insurance is a type of accident insurance related to sports activities, not health insurance.
  • Details of the insurance will be communicated further via individual emails, and participants are encouraged to also monitor race information on the official website or Instagram.
  • Participants are also required to understand, read, and agree to the waiver letter, which contains the terms of responsibility of the Organizers and Management concerning the insurance coverage for the race, which is part of the organizers' responsibility towards the participants.

J. PARKING LOCATION

1. Where can participants park their vehicles?
  • Participants are advised to prioritize the use of public transportation or drop-off services when traveling to the event location to avoid traffic congestion.
  • Participants are also encouraged to access accommodations near the race venue so they can reach the event area on foot.
  • If participants still choose to use personal vehicles, they can park in designated parking areas, the layout of which will be communicated later via the website, social media, and will be included in the race guide.
  • For the convenience of all participants, please pay close attention to the provided layout.
  • Participants are advised to monitor information in case there are changes to parking locations.
  • Participants should keep an eye on official announcements through social media or the race information channels regarding recommended parking locations.

K. ACCOMMODATION

1. Is there any collaboration with nearby accommodations for participants?
  • The race organizers do not provide accommodations, as hotels and lodgings are readily available and easily accessible.
  • Participants can monitor official information on the website or social media for updates on accommodations if any official partnerships are established later.

L. FACILITIES IN THE RACE VILLAGE

1. Is there a prayer room available in the race village?

Yes, there is a mosque/prayer room in the race village that participants can access for performing the Fajr prayer.

2. Are there toilets available along the race route?

Portable toilets will be provided at the race central and along the running route.

M. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

1. What are the mandatory requirements for participants in this race?

Each participant is required to wear appropriate race outfits that adhere to public etiquette.

2. Must participants wear the race jersey while competing?

Participants are encouraged and advised to wear the race jersey during the competition to facilitate visual identification by field staff.

3. Are participants required to wear a bib number??
  • Yes. Only participants wearing a bib number will be allowed in the race central area.
  • Participants and anyone without a bib number or other official identification are not permitted to enter the race central or run on the course.

N. PACE SETTER

1. Will there be pace setters for the runners?
  • Yes, pace setters will be provided to run alongside participants according to the designated times.
  • Runners are prohibited from bringing personal pace setters, and if they are found to be secretly using personal pace setters, particularly if detected cheating and potentially harming other participants, those participants will be disqualified.

O. ORDERLINESS & CLEANLINESS

1. What must participants adhere to during the race and while in the race area?
  • Each participant is required to respect and appreciate other participants by not engaging in actions that may cause discomfort or trigger unrest.
  • Participants are prohibited from using assistive devices while running, such as bicycles, wheelchairs, inline skates, strollers, shoes with built-in rollers, or any other wheeled devices that could accelerate the runner's pace. Participants are also not allowed to carry babies and/or strollers while competing, except for Participants with Special Needs (IBK).
  • Participants are not allowed to bring pets or other animals while running.
  • Participants should maintain public facilities and refrain from damaging any facilities during their time at the race location and on the course.
  • When taking refreshments, using the ablution facilities and prayer room, or using portable toilets, participants are expected to queue orderly.
  • Participants should not litter and are encouraged to keep the race area and venue clean.
  • Participants, all officials, and anyone involved in this event are prohibited from smoking during the event.
2. What actions will be taken if participants violate orderliness?

Any actions aimed at violating orderliness will be addressed by the security team, and any criminal acts will be pursued legally.

3. Is it the responsibility of participants to ensure safety, cleanliness, and orderliness during the event?
  • Participants must maintain cleanliness by not littering in both the race central and along the running route. Please use the provided trash bins or hand your trash to our staff, who will actively collect it.
  • Participants are not allowed to smoke in the race area, both in the race central and along the running route, from the moment they enter the race area until they leave.
  • Participants must behave courteously.
